Love The Way You Lie – Eminem

August 13, 2010 - One Response

Eminem’s resurrection with albums Relapse (2009) and Recovery (2010) has proven that our mastermind hasn’t lost any of his flavor and has rekindled that same spark that he once held within the hip hop community. His second video installment from Recovery, “Love The Way You Lie” has proven that Em still holds dominance as a clever storyteller and continues to enthrall us with his potent messages in his music. Opening with our most famous chameleon…Ms. Rihanna scorches the screen with the new scarlet coiffure with matching nails and the-oh-so-fly make-up that enhances her hazel/greens…she’s edgy and we love it! Took me a few scenes to recognize Dominic Monaghan our friendly little hobbit or better known from Lost but no doubt he delivered the wickedness of a philandering lover. Megan Fox transformed the sexy…I’m gonna kill you but kiss me first…rawness of an addictive relationship.  This one is a heavy rotator!!!

Fall In Love – Estelle

August 9, 2010 - 2 Responses

It’s been a minute since I’ve heard music that’s light, fun, and gets you in a smooth groove. Estelle’s new hit, “Fall In Love ft. John Legend” had me jamming. First off I have to address Estelle’s wicked shoe-game…she always leaves me impressed with her provocative choices of heels and the haircut/color was also complimenting! Video correlates with the song… a beautiful sunny summer day, Estelle going for a stroll while grabbing the attention of that hottie in the window…Dude looks familiar… oh yeah Grey’s Anatomy! John’s legendary crooning added extra height to this collabo which surprisingly is the second; there is another version featuring Nas. My end result, I really enjoyed this one and look forward to hearing the full album.

Heartbreaks That Sounds So Good!!!

For starters, the videos featured in this post are old but still rocking when played. It’s no secret that I’m a music lover and video enthusiast. You can tell, right? LOL. To me, a video can catapult a song into high-drive if done correctly. I always appreciate when a music video correlates with the artist’s song; it forms a story and makes it more intriguing to watch.

When Keyshia Cole dropped “(I Just Want It) To Be Over” back in 2005, this song/video instantly became a fly heartbreak anthem for women. Check out Keyshia’s flaming red hair and curvaceous figure…girl was bad!!!

Ashanti had many hits, it was actually hard to choose just one. I picked a 2003 smasher, “Rain On Me” because of the important storyline about abusive relationships. And having Larenz Tate starring was an added bonus cause he was looking so ever fine; got me a little love jones for him!

As far back as I can remember, Usher has been transmitting sincere messages from his heart in his music. His 2001 hit “U Got It Bad” showed us a man’s perspective with dealing with a bad break-up. It was quite refreshing to see him with Chilli again.
